Varun Quits Vasan Bala's Film
Here's the latest update from the world of Bollywood. We bet you wouldn't want to miss this. Read on for details... Varun Quits Vasan Bala's Film
Main Tera Hero? Naa, says Varun Dhawan to Anurag Kashyap's assistant
While the trade is buzzing with high praise of Varun Dhawan's upcoming film Badlapur, SpotboyE.com has it that David Dhawan's son is not doing Vasan Bala's film Side Hero.
Vasan and the film's producer Gurmeet Monga had asked Varun to play the role of a young man who is a die-hard fan of martial arts heroes.
What went wrong, we asked? A source close to the project revealed, "Vasan and Gurmeet started talking about Varun of being in their film after he had met them just once. This irked Varun no end."
Or is it that Varun didn't like the script in totality and found an excuse to turn them down? Added the source, "That could be one of the reasons. But Varun had not given them the final nod of consent. In their excitement, Vasan and Gurmeet simply jumped the gun. Thereafter, Varun didn't feel like working with them."
Vasan has assisted Anurag Kashyap on Dev D, Gulaal and the Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma yet-to-be-released starrer Bombay Velvet (which he has also co-written). His directorial debut, Peddlers, was screened in the Critics Week section at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012.
