Varun Dhawan On CAA: ‘Once The Situation Is Studied, Will Give Out My Viewpoint’

After the Citizenship Amendment Act was amended on the Indian constitutions, the country divided into pros and cons. This law not only affected a lot of people. There were protests in Delhi's Jamia Millia Islamia university after the announcement, which was followed by police intervention. Bollywood celebs, while protesting against CAA, showed support and sympathy towards the students. Stars like Parineeti Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Vicky Kaushal and many more have taken this matter to their social media handles to express their viewpoint. As everyone is commenting on this scenario, Varun Dhawan was asked the same but didn’t really give his opinion as the actor said he was not fully aware.
Varun recently launched his upcoming film, Street Dancer 3D with Shraddha Kapoor, Nora Fatehi and Remo D’Souza. After showcasing the banging trailer, follows media interactions. During the QnA round, Varun was asked to comment on the ongoing Jamia Millia protest, to which he said that he is been hearing and reading different versions of the story, hence, he is not able to give his opinion and chose to keep a mum on the same. He said, “Honestly, what’s happening in the country and is been reported, the reason why I don’t want to comment on what exactly it's happening because there are four-five versions floating. He then added that forceful protestors are wrong. He said, “It’s very easy to say something but since you’re a public personality, people follow you. So once the situation is studied well, I will then give my viewpoint.” Meanwhile, his film, Street Dancer 3D will hit the big screens on January 24, 2020.
