The people of Uttarakhand’s Chamoli district were affected in a tragedy that took the lives of a few and close to 150 people reported missing. On Sunday morning, according to reports, a glacier burst triggered flash floods. The Nanda Devi glacier broke off in Tapovan area of Joshimath in Chamoli district and damaged the Rishiganga dam on Alaknanda river. The latest reports stated that a total of 8 are dead and 170 have been missing. Now, reacting to the news, Bollywood celebrities reacted to the news.

Taking to their respective Instagram stories, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Neetu Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan made posts, reacting to the Uttarakhand flash floods that caused havoc on Sunday.  They send prayers for safety and well being of those affected. Kareena in her post wrote, “Sending prayers for the safety and well being of those affected by the terrible tragedy unfolding in #Uttarakhand.” While Kareena made a post, Neetu Kapoor send prayers too. She mentioned about being deeply distressed to hear about the flash floods. Kapoor wrote, “Deeply distressed to hear about the floods in #Uttarakhand. Prayers and thoughts will all those affected.”

Sara Ali Khan, on the other hand, prayed for the safety of the people of Chamoli district. She hoped that the ones stranded or missing are rescued and brought home safe soon. The actress sends strength to everyone stranded and the rescue teams to cope up with the disturbing tragedy. Sara also shared a helpline number in her post.

Meanwhile, according to the latest report in Indian Express, addressing a press conference in the evening, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the number of missing people is likely to increase. He also announced a Rs 4 Lakh financial assistance for the families of the ones killed in the tragedy.
