Urvashi Rautela CHOPS HAIR As She Joins Protest Against Iranian Government, Demanding Justice For Mahsa Amini, Ankita Bhandari; See PICS
Bollywood actress Urvashi Rautela has joined the protest against the Iranian government by cutting her hair in support of protesters in Iran and Ankita Bhandari. The actress took to her social media handle to inform the same and shared her photos of chopping off her locks expressing her solidarity with the protestors in Iran. Urvashi in her lengthy post mentioned that her decision to chop her hair was to support Mahsa Amini who died after she was arrested by Iranian morality police and 19-year-old Ankita Bhandari, who was murdered in Uttarakhand.

On Sunday, the Sanam Re actress shared her photos wherein she could be seen sitting and chopping off her hair. Alongside it, she penned a lengthy note that read, “CHOPPED MY HAIR OFF ! cutting my hair in support of Iranian women and girls who have been killed in protests at the death of Mahsa Amini after her arrest by Iranian morality police & for all the girls. And for 19-year-old girl my Ankita Bhandari from Uttarakhand. Around the world women are uniting in protest against the Iranian government by cutting their hair. Respect Women A Global Symbol For Women’s Revolution. Rautela added, “By chopping off hair it in public, women are showing that they don’t care about society’s beauty standards and won’t let anything or anyone decide how they dress up, behave or live. Once women come together and consider one women’s issue as an issue of the entire womankind, feminism will see a new vigour.”

For the unversed, the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini instigated the protests in Iran. She was arrested on September 13 in Tehran for allegedly violating Iran’s strict dress code. On the other hand, Ankita Bhandari, a receptionist at a resort in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, was allegedly killed by an ex-BJP leader’s son Pulkit Arya and two of his accomplices. 

Several celebs including, Oscar-winning actors Marion Cotillard, Juliette Binoche, and other French actors had chopped off their hair in support of protesters in Iran.
