Unsettled With Shah Rukh Khan’s Silence, CAA, NRC Protestors At Shaheen Bagh Sing Their Version Of DDLJ Song-VIDEO

While Deepika Padukone visited JNU and set an example, people are still unsettled with Shah Rukh Khan’s grave silence over CAA, NRC, JNU attacks. Upset with SRK, protestors at Shaheen Bagh sang a modified version of his songs, as they questioned his silence on national issues

n the wake of several protests in the last few months over issues such as CAA, NRC, Jamia Millia violence, JNU attacks, Bollywood was largely criticized and slammed by many for choosing to maintain their silence on national issues. Just a few days ago, Deepika Padukone visited JNU and showed solidarity with the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi, thereby setting an example. While Bollywood celebs such as Anurag Kashyap, Swara Bhasker, and many other do speak up, it’s the Bollywood biggies like Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and others’ grave silence that people are most upset with.

Shah Rukh is one of those celebrities whose silence is being questioned the most. During Jamia Millia violence, many urged him to speak up, since he was an alumnus of Jamia himself. Now, upset and unsettled with SRK’s mute stand,  anti- CAA, NRC protestors at Shaheen Bagh sang modified version of his songs, as they questioned his silence on national issues. The video, which is being shared on Twitter, shows a few protestors singing their version of Tujhe Dekha Toh Ye Jaana Sanam from his film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. Just a few days ago, an old ‘Main Hindustani’ video featuring famous personalities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar, Tabu and others went viral on social media. Many slammed them and demanded a newer version featuring all those, who actually raised their voice against important issues.
