Tillotama Shome Recalls A Terrifying Molestation Incident While In Delhi; Actress Says, ‘Thought It Might Be Safer Since He Was A Doctor’

Actress Tillotama Shome has made a name for herself in the Hindi entertainment industry with her versatile performances. Over the years, she became a household name after essaying unconventional roles and breaking stereotypes set for actresses in the film industry. She never shies away from talking about her experiences in personal and professional life. During a recent interview, she recalled a horrifying experience where a man tried to molest her after giving her a lift in his car.
While talking to Hauterrfly, Shome recalled her experience of sexual harassment while she was in Delhi. The video snippet of the same has been posted on the entertainment portal’s official Instagram handle. While opening up about the incident, she revealed that it left a lasting impact on her. The Sir actress shared that she was waiting for a bus during the winter season in Delhi. It was then that a car stopped near her and a group of men started harassing and catcalling her.
The 45-year-old actress started moving away from the men after one threw a small stone in her way. Quoted by Bollywood Shaadis, she added, “I was like, I have to go from here. Now either I run, but they can outrun me. So, I decided to stand in the middle of the road and take a lift. We just moved a little bit.” It was like a calling from within her that made her take a step back. She then immediately thought of trying to get a lift from a passerby. After a few cars passed by without helping her, one stopped.
Remembering what happened after, the Lust Stories 2 actress shared, “I thought it might be safer since he was a doctor. I got in the car and sat in the front seat and he unzipped his pants. We just moved a little bit, he took my hand and he unzipped his pants and I guess he wanted me to do whatever. The moment he forced my hand, it was like an instinct hit, like hitting out. I don't know what I did, but he had to stop his car because something happened. He swerved, whatever. And he asked me to get out.”
While the terrifying experience left her feeling shaken, it was her instinct to fight back that helped her get out of the dangerous situation.
On the work front, Tillotama Shome was last seen in Manav Kaul starrer Tribhuvan Mishra: CA Topper. She essayed the role of Bindi Jain in the show. She was also seen in Kota Factory season 3, which stars Jitendra Kumar in lead role.
