Tiger Shroff Birthday Special: This Talented Lad Has Come A Long Way
As we celebrate Jackie Shroff's super-talented son, Tiger Shroff's birthday today, here's taking a look at his journey into the cinema till now
Tiger Shroff has changed, as he is bound to. How can you not change when your career goes in 6 years from laughing stock to action superstar? Tiger is big bucks at the boxoffice, I remember how bravely he laughed off all the jokes and memes about his lack of facial hair after his debut in Heropanti.
“Sir, what can I do if I don’t have a proper beard?” he reasoned against the unreasonable backlash. Four years later, facial hair is not a problem. The Baaghi franchise and War last year have done wonders to Tiger’s self-confidence. He is no longer the anxious insecure student of cinema determined to get over his supposed weaknesses, from hairlessness to a stiffness in his facial muscles.
What remains unchanged is his devotion to his family. Tiger adores his parents and sister and wants to see them happy at any cost. The only way his girlfriend Disha Patani can become the Bahu of the Shroff parivar is if she wins over Tiger’s parents, the way Ayesha Shroff put her entire being on the line to make sure Jackie’s beloved Mom was pleased.
But that was back then. I doubt Disha would be inclined to induce the same amount of trust in her future mother-in-law. Until then she would have to be content being a part of the Shroff family from the outside. To go any further that Disha would need to concentrate on being a dutiful daughter-in-law, when all she has time for is her career.
So, I see no marriage for Tiger in the coming year. But I do see more success with Baaghi 4 and Heropaanti 2. Remaining loyal to producer Sajid Nadiadwala who launched him, comes naturally to Tiger Shroff. Family or friends, nothing has changed in Tiger’s life. Tiger’s best friend has remained the same since his childhood. It is Danny Denzongpa’s son Rinzing. Tiger’s father Jackie too remained steadfast in his loyalties. So much so that he ended up doing the trashiest of films for friends.
Tiger Shroff won’t make that mistake. He knows where to draw the line between the professional and the personal. He is all heart like his Dad. But Tiger’s heart knows its trajectory. He won’t do rubbish for the sake of friendship, his logic being, ‘If someone is asking you to do something wrong then he is not worthy of your friendship.’
Jackie never thought like that. He never looked before he leapt. Tiger would rather save up all his derring do for the camera.
As for birthday celebrations, here's what Tiger has to say. "I don’t have birthday plans. I don’t celebrate it. I just don’t like celebrating my birthday. According to me it’s not a great accomplishment to become a year older. On the contrary, I will be reminded that I’ve lost one year of my precious life. What’s there to celebrate?”
Remind him that most people love their birthdays and Tiger quips, “In that case I guess I am not normal. I’ll be doing all my normal stuff on my birthday, like physical training, dancing, stunts practice, and going to the gym.”
Happy Birthday, Tiger.
