Throwback Thursday: Evergreen Dimple Kapadia’s 10 Never Seen Before Pictures
Sexy, charming, graceful are among the many terms which can be used to describe Dimple Kapadia. On her 60th birthday, let’s take a look at a few rare pictures of the beautiful actress
It was Raj Kapoor who gave a 16-year-old Dimple Kapadia a break in Bollywood with Bobby (1973). The youngster, who featured opposite Rishi Kapoor in the iconic film, went on to become an overnight sensation.
However, soon after, she tied the knot with a 15 years younger Rajesh Khanna and bid adieu to the world of showbiz, only to return a decade later with Saagar (1985). By this time she had two daughters – Twinkle and Rinke Khanna and had separated from Rajesh Khanna.
After Saagar’s success, Dimple Kapadia was seen in a slew of films including Kaash (1987), Drishti (1990), Lekin (1990), and Rudaali (1993), which earned her a National Film Award for Best Actress and a Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actress. She followed these films with supporting roles in Gardish (1993) and Krantiveer (1994).
The evergreen actress proved that she still has all it takes to rule the silver screen by being nominated for awards for her supporting roles in Luck By Chance (2009) and Finding Fanny (2014).
