This Is Very Disheartening: Alia Bhatt REACTS To Thane Pet Dog Assault Case After Video Of The Incident Goes Viral
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt expressed her dismay over the recent Thane pet dog assault case. In response to the viral video showing two vet clinic staff brutally beating a chow-chow pet dog, the Raazi actress shared the news on her Instagram story, stating, "This is very disheartening." The incident sparked outrage among netizens, who called for strict action against the perpetrators.

The police registered a non-cognizable offence against the two individuals, Mayur Michael Jadhav, 19, and Prashant Gaikwad, under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act in the recent Thane pet dog assault case. However, public outcry on social media called for stricter punishment for the perpetrators.

Both perpetrators in the Thane pet dog assault case were arrested on Wednesday (February 14). However, the post that Alia Bhatt re-shared claimed that the culprits managed to escape. Thane MLA Pratap Sarnaik of Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) had demanded strict action against the culprits and called for the closure of the vet clinic.

On the work front, Alia is preparing for the launch of her web series Poacher, centred around the dark world of poaching in Kerala, India. The series delves into the persistent investigations of forest crime fighters, police officials, and compassionate individuals to uncover the largest ivory poaching racket in Indian history. Serving as the executive producer, Alia's web series is scheduled for release on Prime Video on February 23.
