Priya Gupta apparently wants to quit her present job and join a hi-profile position
in BCCI.
In a story which has been doing the rounds of the Internet, Board of
Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary
has refused to sign the appointment order of the Board’s new General
Manager (Marketing) Priya Gupta citing an article the latter had written while
she was working with Times Of India.
Deepika Padukone
Gupta had written an article in Bombay Times in 2014 where she slut-shamed
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. The entertainment supplement of
the paper, Bombay Times, had tweeted a Deepika Padukone video with the caption:
“OMG! Deepika Padukone’s cleavage show”. Soon after this tweet,
Deepika too took to her micro-blogging site to give a befitting reply.
Deepika tweeted, “YES! I am a Woman. I have breasts AND a cleavage! You got a
problem!!??”
Deepika Padukone
Gupta had shot back, "Deepika, just for the record, we do not zoom into a
woman’s vagina or show her nipples… What about all the times, and there have
been many, when you have flaunted your body off screen — while dancing on
stage, posing for magazine covers, or doing photo ops at movie promotional
functions? What ‘role’ do you play there? So why the hypocrisy?” ALSO

Questioning the BCCI’s selection process, Choudhary has apparently shot an
email to BCCI CEO Rahul Johri where he is said to have written, “A simple
search on the internet, revealed the following stories mentioning the candidate
selected for the post we are presently concerned with, regarding an article
that the person authored, the content of which is for everyone to
see.” However, when Gupta was asked about Choudhary’s objections, she in a
statement to The Indian Express, said, “I really have no clue about it and I
don’t want to comment anything on it.”
