The Sky Is Pink Trailer Review: Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar And Zaira Wasim Have Our Heart And Our Heartbeat
The Sky Is Pink is a tear-jerker, light-hearted comedy, family drama and a wild romance all rolled into one. Yet, it would be wrong to call it a masala potboiler or to give it any label, for that matter, because it’s much bigger than that. Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and the eccentric yet endearing Zaira Wasim are the star performers in this 3-minute-9-second long trailer. Rohit Saraf isn’t seen much but we’re sure Shonali Bose has a well carved-out role for him in the movie.

The trailer begins with the story of a young, reckless and much-in-love couple - Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar - Moose and Panda. We can’t help but make a tiny connect to Manmarziyaan’s Rumi and Vicky Sandhu and their ‘fyaar’. Replete with roof top romance, stolen kisses and hush-hush phone calls, Priyanka and Farhan instantly make a tug at our heartstrings. The trailer zooms into the future, enters Zaira Wasim, the child Priyanka and Farhan have out of wedlock. Zaira essays a young teenage girl who wears her attitude on her sleeve and screams for attention. The trailer takes a turn down tear town at this point. There are hospital sequences and an illness that binds and divides the family, all at once.

There’s the ominous beeping sound of a myriad monitoring systems as Ayesha (Zaira Wasim) battles for her life in the hospital. There’s a looming regret in a marriage fraught with monetary problems and the wear-and-tear that days and years bring in, there’s faith in the face of adversity and there’s a glimmer of comedy even when death is knocking – these diverse emotions are captured so beautifully by Shonali Bose. Watch it, again and again, because the sky is pink and we are in love!
