Adil Hussain reacts to strong criticism over his tweet on 'The Kashmir Files'
Adil Hussain, who recently made it to the Forbes list of outstanding actors, has come under the radar of trolls over his tweet on ‘The Kashmir Files’. In his latest tweet, the actor shared his views on Vivek Agnihotri’s directorial and stated that ‘truth must be spoken but tenderly or else truth loses its beauty’. A certain section of people brutally trolled him for his opinions and called him out on social media. Adil has been trending with netizens slamming him over his tweet.
Adil had written, “Truth must be spoken! No doubt about it. But must be spoken Tenderly. Else purpose of speaking the truth loses its beauty. And the impact is reactive.Not responsive. We, for sure, don't want to fuel a reactive society but nourish a responve-sible one. Art Should not be reactive.”
In no time, trolls started criticizing him by re-sharing his post.
One ‘irate’ user tweeted, “It doesn't matter how good you are in acting, if you are Muslim then no matter what you'll support Terrorism and Jihadi Mindset. When Webseries like #Leila or movies like #Mulk gets a release we don't see Muslim protesting then it's freedom of speech and truth #TheKasmirFiles.”

After receiving massive backlash, Adil Hussain later clarified his tweet and also apologized for the agony it caused to people. The actor explained that his tweet was a ‘general comment about his idea of art and he stands by it. He also called the tweet the ‘most ill-timed tweet’ ever. In another follow-up tweet, Hussain said, “I am deeply sorry for the agony it caused to a lot of people. I look forward to have a dialogue after I watch the film. Not sure if Twitter would be the right platform...but will try.”
