Swara Bhasker Opens Up About Kangana Ranaut’s ‘B-Grade’ Remark; Actress Says She Knew It Was An ‘Agenda’
Swara Bhasker in an interview opened up about Kangana Ranaut’s ‘B-grade’ comment. The actress said she was unaffected by it and mentioned she knew it was coming from an ‘agenda’
Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker is fearless and keeps her mind. Last year, the actress made it to the headlines when actress Kangana Ranaut called Swara and Taapsee Pannu ‘B-grade actresses’. Swara, in an interview now, has opened up about Ranaut’s ‘B-grade’ comment. The Veere Di Wedding actress said she was unaffected by Kangana’s remark. She continued to mention how she knew it was coming from an ‘agenda’. Swara explained that while she is open to fair criticism, the comment made by Kangana comes under the umbrella of ‘trolling’.
Speaking with Bollywood Bubble, Swara Bhasker spoke about how she knew Kangana Ranaut’s comment was not fair criticism towards her ‘work’. The actress said, “I think I was lucky that when anybody raised that kind of comment about my work, there were so many people to defend me. I didn’t have to say anything myself. I think I also understand where some of these vicious comments come from - an agenda. They are not actually commenting on my work, they are not even commenting on my performance. I would accept a fair criticism of my performance.”
The Nil Battey Sannata actress shared that she can watch her best performances and critic them, talking about where she went wrong. Swara continued, “I don’t take that stuff seriously because I don’t take trolling seriously. I think it’s completely silly, baseless, pointless.” “I think all of that stuff says more about that person than it does about me. When people talk like that… If you are making a fair and valid critique, I would really still accept it. But what is there to feel bad about someone who is just showing you their lowest self? Why should I feel bad? They should feel bad,” she added.
For the unversed, last year, Kangana called Swara a ‘B-grade actress’ and claimed that she and Taapsee Pannu deny the drawbacks of nepotism to win filmmaker-producer Karan Johar’s favour. The Manikarnika actress said that even after the professional allegiance towards KJo, Swara and Taapsee don’t ‘get work’. Kangana and Swara have history. They have worked in both the instalments of the Tanu Weds Manu film franchise.
