People are still reeling from the news of Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise, and the news has left the nation shocked. The actor died due to suicide Sunday morning, and the film industry as well as the actor’s fans expressed their grief on social media, mourning his demise. Soon after, an old comment of his, asking his fans to watch his films as he has no godfather in the industry started talks about nepotism in Bollywood. Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur tweeted that he knew the story of the people who let him down so bad, the actor would weep. Now, in an Instagram live session with Manoj Bajpayee, Shekhar Kapur slammed nepotism.

Shekhar Kapur and Manoj Bajpayee were scheduled to have a live chat yesterday, but after Sushant’s tragic demise, they decided to postpone the chat and instead do a tribute to Sushant. Shekhar Kapur had posted, “I never did a film with Sushant, but rehearsed with him for a few months on Paani, before Yashraj decided to drop the project, and of course Manoj co started with Sushant in that amazing film, Son Chidiya.Tomorrow 8 pm. Insta live. Manoj Bajpayee and I. On Sushant the Actor, The intellect, The friend.” It was recently during this live chat that Shekhar Kapu spoke up about nepotism and said that it is the makers’ loss as they will be destroyed if they don’t get new talents in the film industry.

He said, “Nepotism kitna karoge aap? Karte jaao, isme aapka hi nuksaan hai . Ek naye talent nahi milenge, aap khatam ho jaaoge.”




Meanwhile, in his tweet mourning Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, Shekhar Kapur wrote, “I knew the pain you were going through. I knew the story of the people that let you down so bad that you would weep  on my shoulder. I wish I was around the last 6 months. I wish you had reached out to me. What happened to you was their Karma. Not yours. #SushantSinghRajput."
