Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Rhea Chakraborty Requests Bombay High Court To Not Cancel FIR Against SSR’s Sisters-Report
Jalebi actress Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and was released from judicial custody earlier this month. Reportedly, Rhea filed a case against SSR’s sisters Priyanka Singh and Meetu Singh accusing them of illegally procuring prescription of psychotropic drugs for their late brother. The sisters then filed a quashing petition, after which Rhea filed a 30-page long reply in response to their petition. Now, the latest reports state that Chakraborty has asked the Bombay High Court to not quash the FIR against SSR’s sisters.

In the latest development in the case filed against late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters Meetu Singh and Priyanka Singh, according to a report in NDTV, Rhea Chakraborty has now asked the Bombay High Court to not cancel the FIR filed against the sisters. In her petition, the Jalebi actress said that the fabricated prescription was meant to help SSR procure medicines that are illegal and banned under the NDPS Act. Rhea also said in her petition that it is not known if SSR had consumed the medication as prescribed or whether it was those medicines that caused his death or contributed to his mental state.

Rhea Chakraborty’s complaint was based on the WhatsApp conversations between the late actor and his sister dated on June 8, a few days before his alleged suicide. The chats later surfaced in the media, where Priyanka Singh was seen advising SSR on text to take three medicines namely Librium, Mexito and Lonazep that are generally prescribed for depression and anxiety, only by the doctor. SSR’s sister also sent a fabricated prescription to the late actor as the drugs were not sold over the counter. Chakraborty also brought attention to Dr Tarun Kumar, who shared the fabricated prescription. The report stated that the petition filed by Rhea read, “It is unfathomable that a Medical Practitioner would treat a patient with severe anxiety and other mental health issues without any consultation.”
