The CBI has taken over the probe in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death after, after the Supreme Court passed its verdict on Wednesday. The CBI has been acting swiftly and so far they have recorded statements of a few people linked to the late actor, including Sushant’s friend and flatmate Siddharth Pithani, cook Neeraj, staff member Dipesh Sawant. Earlier in the day, reports about Rhea Chakraborty and her father Indrajit Chakraborty being summoned by CBI had surfaced on the Internet. Now, Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde clarified Rhea and her family haven’t received any summons from the CBI.
Mumbai Mirror quoted Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde’s statement, in which he mentioned that Rhea and her family have not received any summons from CBI. However, if she does receive it, she will fly and attend. “Dear Friends, Rhea Chakraborty & Fly (Family) have not received any summons from CBI so far to attend. No sooner she receives it, she and fly will attend as they did before Mumbai Police and ED as law abiding citizens. No speculations are necessary," read the statement.
Meanwhile, according to Republic, Siddharth Pathani arrived today at CBI’s DRDO guest house for the third day in a row.
A report in Times Now states that there were inconsistencies in the statements given to CBI by the cook and Siddharth Pithani. There had been reports that the CBI first wants to record statements of people who were present at Sushant’s residence on the day of the actor’s death.
