Sushant Singh Rajput Death: CBI Makes First Official Statement, Reveals That Certain Reports Attributed To Them Are ‘Speculative’

Since the Supreme Court ordered a CBI probe into actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s case, a 10-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) is investigating the case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team is in Mumbai and is trying their best to understand the reason behind SSR’s mysterious death. As the CBI team continues to investigate actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, as per a report, in a statement released, the CBI spokesperson revealed that certain media reports attributed to them SSR’s case are ‘speculative’ and not based on ‘facts’.
According to a report in Hindustan Times, in the first official statement issued since taking over the investigation into the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) spoke on the details regarding the case that are being reported in various sections of the media and mentioned they are not credible or based on facts, but are instead speculative in nature. On Thursday, CBI spokesperson R K Gaur said, “Certain media reports attributed to CBI investigation are speculative and not based on facts.”
CBI spokesperson R K Gaur continued, “It is reiterated that as a matter of policy, CBI does not share details of ongoing investigation. CBI spokesperson or any team member has not shared any details of the investigation with the media. The details being reported and attributed to CBI are not credible.” The agency mentioned that it is conducting an investigation in SSR’s death case in a systematic and professional way, as per the report. Moving on, the CBI spokesperson requested that the media may please confirm with the details regarding the case before quoting them in the reports.
Meanwhile, another officer who didn’t wish to be named in the report mentioned that the CBI team has not concluded their investigations yet. He said, “We have not concluded our investigations yet. A lot of information is coming out every day, mostly unverified, hence we decided to issue a statement. The agency’s line of investigation is known to officers only. So far, in the last one week, the agency has examined several persons including Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her family members, as well as SSR’s friend Siddharth Pithani, cook Neeraj and several others. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the CBI is currently stationed at the DRDO guest house in Mumbai and are moving forward with their investigation from there only. Sushant Singh Rajput died on June 14, by alleged suicide, in his Mumbai residence.
