Sushant Singh Rajput Death Case: Bombay HC Holds Case Against Priyanka Singh; Quashes Rhea Chakraborty’s FIR Against Sister Mitu Singh- REPORTS
After Rhea Chakraborty was released from the jail on bail in September, last year, she filed a case against late Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters and Dr. Tarun Kumar of Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. The Bombay High court delivered its verdict today and here’s the latest update. In the verdict, Bombay High Court has quashed Rhea Chakraborty’s FIR against  SSR’s sister Mitu Singh but said that Rhea’s case against SSR’s another sister Priyanka Singh holds. Rhea had filed the case against them on September 7.

ANI’s Tweet read, “Bombay High quashes the FIR against Sushant Singh Rajput's sister Mitu Singh; FIR against his other sister Priyanka not quashed." In the last hearing, Bombay HC had reserved its decision n the case. Well, not only Priyanka, HC even observed that there was a prima facie against Dr. Tarun Kumar. A bench comprising Justices SS Shinde and MS Karnik said in the hearing, “There is prima facie case found against Priyanka Singh and there should not be any impediment against investigation against her". The court further said that the FIR will survive with Priyanka and Dr. Tarun’s name.

Ahead of the hearing, advocate Madhav Thorat, who is representing Sushant Singh Rajput’s family in the court had told Pinkvilla, “The FIR is registered by Rhea Chakraborty against Sushant’s family members including his sisters and his doctor for illegally administering the banned drugs under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act) which compelled him to commit suicide. So abetment of suicide and usage of illegal drugs which are banned under the NDPS Act schedule is what she has filed an FIR for before getting arrested,”

In her original complaint with Mumbai Police, Rhea Chakraborty had said, "On June 8, 2020, Rajput showed me the messages he and his sister Priyanka had exchanged in which Priyanka sent him a list of medicines to take. I explained to Rajput that he has already been prescribed medicines by doctors who are treating him," ..." He, however, disagreed with me and insisted that he would only take the medicine his sister was prescribing," she adds. The actress claims that all the medicines mentioned in the prescription sent by Sushant's sister Priyanka Singh are under NDPS Act and cannot be prescribed without consultation. The drugs are also prohibited to be prescribed electronically under telemedicine practice guidelines issued on March 25, 2020. (ALSO READ: Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Rhea Chakraborty’s Lawyer Urges CBI To Come Out With Its Findings: ‘It’s High Time There Is Closure To This Sad Event’)
