Sunny Deol Reveals He Is Dyslexic, Gadar 2 Actor Shares He Still Has Problems With His Dialogues; Says, ‘People Would Think Yeh Duffer Hai’
Sunny Deol spoke about the challenges he faces while shooting for his movies as a dyslexic person
Bollywood actor Sunny Deol made a huge comeback with Anil Sharma’s Gadar 2 at the box office, this year. While he was promoting the Ameesha Patel co-starrer, he revealed that he was dyslexic during an interview with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia back in August. Now opening up about the same he now shed light on the challenges he faces while shooting for his projects.
Currently busy shooting for his movie Safar, the 66-year-old actor opened up about his dyslexia revealing that ever since he was a kid he couldn’t read or write properly. Talking about it, Deol told Bombay Times that he still faces a lot of challenges while filming. He went on to add how since in the early days people did not know about dyslexia, they would often think of him as a ‘duffer.’ This has led to him getting his dialogues in Hindi. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, the actor said, “I can’t read and write properly and that has been my problem since childhood. Earlier, we didn’t know what it was, and people would think 'Yeh duffer aadmi hai (He is a duffer)'. I always get my dialogues in Hindi, and I take my time to read it. For the unversed, Sunny had earlier shared that since he and his family didn’t know about dyslexia before, they would slap him for not being able to study like others.
Talking about Gadar 2, it is a sequel to the blockbuster hit Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001). The partition drama followed the journey of Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) who falls in love with a Pakistani Muslim girl Sakina (Ameesha Patel). After they get married and have a kid (Utkarsh Sharma), Sakina is forced to go to her country by her father, leaving her family. The father-son duo then goes to Pakistan to rescue her. The sequel focuses more on the father-son relationship and how Tara goes to rescue his son, who is captured in Pakistan. Released on August 11th, 2023, the movie is directed and produced by Anil Sharma. On the work front, Sunny Deol also has Lahore 1947 in his pipeline.
