When theatres were completely shut, thanks (not really) to the coronavirus pandemic, OTT platforms rose to the occasion. Multiple films that were scheduled to release on the big screens were then released on the digital platform. Covid-19 continues to haunt us, and cinema halls remain shut. Consequently, actor Sonam Kapoor’s next thriller flick, Blind, produced by Sujoy Ghosh, may now release on the OTT platform, owing to the anticipated third wave of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the film was made for a theatrical release, but now, the makers are planning for a digital release. The name of the OTT platform name hasn't yet been revealed. A source close to the development told the publication, “Sujoy had thought of waiting it out for a theatrical release. He is in fact very happy with how the film has turned out. But given the third wave scare, and another shutdown of theatres, he is being advised to not hold onto the movie anymore. He is now talking to three digital streaming companies and he will select the best deal.”
The Prem Ratan Dhan Payo actress shot for the movie in Glasgow in January this year. Kickstarting her shoot, she shared a picture on Instagram and wrote, “We are making a thriller and are very serious about our jobs. The cold is making us behave this way. flanked by The DOP and The Director #Ateam #blind #gia”
Sonam is said to have played a blind police officer in the movie. She even got herself trained by a blind coach to get into the skin of the character for the film. 'Blind' also features Vinay Pathak, Purab Kohli and Lilette Dubey in key roles. ALSO READ: Sonam Kapoor Had Once Confessed That Karan Johar's Koffee With Karan Ruined Her Bond With Ranbir Kapoor
