John did some in-depth research before plunging into the project and thus he is
super confident that the film will touch the hearts of people across the
nation. And what better way that to get a recommendation from the Prime
Minister himself!
A source close to the project informed an online portal, “Since this film has a
tremendous political relevance even today, John and his producer Prernaa
Arora are very keen to show Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran to the Prime
Minister.”
Speaking of Parmanu, BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha said that he would like the
widest possible exposure for such relevant films. “A film that opens up a
crucial chapter from India’s political history must be given support and
encouragement. Such films should be granted tax exemption so that the message
and statement reach out to the widest possible audience," said Shatrughan
while speaking to a section of the media.

Parmanu is director Abhishek Sharma’s take on the experimental nuclear
explosions conducted by the Indian army on Pokhran in 1988.
It was one of the few films that was affected by the
Federation of Western India Cine Employees strike, in August last year.
Talking
about the rumours making the rounds about possibly postponing Parmanu, producer
Prernaa Arora said, “There are rumours and false reports that we are not
releasing on February 23. Just because we shifted our other February release Pari to
March doesn’t mean our production house KriArj is moving Parmanu as well. We
are releasing Parmanu on February 23, come what may.”
