Sonu Sood To Work For Kids Who Lost Their Parents To COVID-19: ‘I Am In Touch With Those Families And Children’
Sonu Sood’s relentless efforts amid the Coronavirus pandemic have been commendable. Amid the second wave of COVID-19, Sonu Sood has been busy helping those in need of medical resources, hospital beds, oxygen cylinders and much more. Sonu Sood has also been highlighting some important issues that exist and need to be addressed. A few days ago, he had appealed to the state and central government to ensure that free education is provided to those children who have lost their parents to COVID-19. Priyanka Chopra also supported this suggestion. Now, Sonu Sood will also be working for children who lost their parents to the pandemic.

While speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Sonu Sood said that it is a serious situation. “I am in touch with those families, those children who have lost their parents. I had also made a request to the state governments to make the education of Covid orphans free and also to provide some kind of regular pension for those families which have lost their earning members. I am glad it's happening,” he said. He said that while he is happy to see that 11- 12 states have already announced free education for the kids and some pension as well, he thinks more needs to be done.

Sonu Sood added that a more permanent financial solution is needed. “Compensation and pension should go to not only to children in government schools but also in private schools. Orphaned children are equally vulnerable in every situation. Why look at only children in government schools?” he said. Sonu Sood said that he is trying to gather data on all the children who have been affected, and are trying their best to help them.
