Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the repeal of farm laws on Friday. His decision was welcomed by many celebrities who took to social media to congratulate the farmers. From Sonu Sood, Taapse Pannu to Richa Chaddha, many took to Twitter and shared their opinion on the same.

Sonu Sood called it a 'wonderful news'. Taking to Twitter, the actor wrote, "This is a wonderful news! Thank you @narendramodi ji, @PMOIndia, for taking back the farm laws. Thank you, farmers, for raising just demands through peaceful protests. Hope you will happily return to be with your families on the Prakasj Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji today." Sayani Gupta wrote, "Congratulations Farmers. You showed it's possible. Protests work. Prayers for all who lost their lives. Their sacrifices didn't go in vain. May God always be with you our Annadaatas! Jai Jawaan Jai Kisaan." Richa Chaddha and Taapsee Pannu also took to Twitter to congratulate the farmers.

However, Kangana Ranaut called this 'sad, shameful and absolutely unfair." Sharing a person's tweet about the appeal, she wrote, "If people on the streets have started to make laws and not the chosen government in the Parliament then even this is a jhadi nation. Congratulations to all who wanted it like this."
Kangana has been in the news lately for a controversial reason. Her remarks on India's Independence at the Times Now Summit caused a stir on social media. The actress during the Times Now Summit had said, ".... blood will flow. But it should not be Hindustani blood. They knew it and they paid a price. Of course, it was not freedom but bheek and we attained real freedom in 2014."
