Sonu Nigam's Father-In-Law Passes Away

Sonu Nigam, one of the most popular singers in India today, has lost his father-in-law. His wife Madhurima's father breathed his last about an hour-and-half ago. The funeral is expected to be held tomorrow. The sad news has just come to us and we are breaking it to you first.

The 45-year old Sonu has sung in many Indian languages such as Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, as well as Telugu. His voice resembles that of India’s legendary singer, Mohammed Rafi. He is a well-trained classical singer as well.  Nigam began his singing career at the age of four, when he joined his father Agam Kumar Nigam on stage to sing Mohammed Rafi's song Kya Hua Tera Wada from Hum Kisise Kum Nahin, picturised on Tariq. Nigam is very passionate about music and started travelling with his father on his singing appearances at weddings and parties. Moving to Mumbai with his dad at the age of 18, the Sooraj Hua Madham singer was trained by Hindustani classical singer Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan.

The versatile singer's tweets against making the Azaan (Muslim call for prayer) through loudspeakers had landed him in a very volatile controversy. In a tweet, he had stated that Azaan through loudspeakers disturbs his sleep. He later cleared the air that he is not against any specific religious ritual but against the use of loudspeakers in general, citing his objection to the growing noise pollution in general.

Sonu dated Madhurima for quite a few years before marrying her in February 2002. They have a son, Neevan.

May Madhurima's father's soul rest in peace. SpotboyE.com offers its deepest condolences to Sonu and Madhurima.
