Soni Razdan Raises Concern Over Exodus Of Migrant Workers: ‘Can’t Lockup 1.38 Billion People Overnight Without A Plan’
While the lockdown is proving to be quite difficult for most of us, including the privileged population of the country, the poor and the jobless are bearing the brunt of the effects of Coronavirus outbreak. A large number of people and migrant workers, desperate to return to their villages to be with their families, risked it all taking crowded buses or walking on foot for kilometers on end. Amid all this, Alia Bhatt’s mother Soni Razdan has raised concern after the mass exodus of migrant workers.

While a few trains had been arranged for the workers to reach their villages, many claimed they did not have money to pay for their tickets, and urged the government to do something about it. Soni Razdan questioned the overnight announcement of the lockdown, with not enough time to be prepared for the consequences of the same. She also raised concern over not having a plan in place for all those who cannot earn.

Soni Razdan tweeted, “You cannot lockup a population of 1.38 billion people overnight without a plan. A plan that has to include feeding all those who cannot earn. Where is it ? @PMOIndia @OfficeofUT @TheDailyEye.”

Replying to Soni Razdan’s tweet, one user wrote, “Ofcourse you cant, neither did any. One any country ever imagined a situation like this, with our countries population and illitracy level this was the best option then,” while most agreed with her viewpoint.
