Sonam Kapoor, who was last seen in The Zoya Factor, hasn’t been signing a lot of films since her marriage. It was being speculated that the Kapoor girl is keen on putting her filmy career on rest, and the super-failure of her last outing only added to the rumours. But, hold on! Sonam Kapoor has now signed an out and out female-oriented film, which is going to be helmed by ace director Sujoy Ghosh. Adding to your excitement, the actress is going to play a blind girl in the film.

The film in question is going to be the official Hindi remake of the 2011 Korean film Blind that is a crime thriller. The film’s premise chronicles the life of an ex-cop, who loses her sight after meeting with an accident amid her investigation of hunting down a criminal. However, she ends up catching him, despite the disability. This untitled film will see Sonam in the lead role and it’s going to be helmed by Shome Makhija. Sujoy Ghosh, who is going to be the film’s creative producer, said in an interview with IANS, “A friend of mine Shome Makhija is directing the film. It’s an out-and-out female-hero story.”As per Ghosh, Sonam Kapoor fits the bill perfectly.


Earlier, in a conversation with IANS, the Veere De Wedding actor had said, “I haven't done any action and horror films, so these are the two genres I would love to explore. It would be so different and exciting for me because I haven't done anything on action. So, one of these two genres would be interesting to try out.” We wait!
