Sonam brought Sikander in her shattered cousin Priya's life

This morning, SpotboyE the first to break the news about Sonam Kapoor's cousin Priya Singh's engagement with Kirron Kher's actor-son Sikander (Sikander gets engaged to Sonam's cousin Priya, Jan 30). Priya is the daughter of interior designer and art connoisseur Kavita Singh (Sonam's mother Sunita's sister) and ACG Worldwide chief Jasjit Singh.
Here's the exclusive inside story on how it all happened.
Priya had been in a very troubled state of mind since October 5 last year, when her fiance Aashish Mahbubani passed away after a sudden cardiac arrest post workout in a gym. Priya and Aashish were madly in love for six years.
It seemed all over to Napean Sea Road resident Priya, until Sonam went across and sat down with her for a long chat explaining her that she had a life ahead.
During the conversation, Sonam also touched upon Sikander Kher's name to Priya telling her that 'he is extremely fond of her'.
A few days later, Sonam made Priya meet Sikander and sat down with them to say that they should consider marriage.
Sikander was ready, but Sonam's suggestion left Priya shocked.
Priya still hasn't forgotten Aashish and she never will, but slowly she started giving a thought to Sonam's prescription and realised that the Neerja actress is not wrong. Meanwhile, she also gauged that Sikander is a nice guy who really cares for her.
Next, Priya's parents got into the matchmaking act and started telling their daughter that they want to see her settled and happy.
And then? SpotboyE has it that on January 21, exactly the day when she was supposed to marry Aashish in Goa, Priya who has till date been in frequent touch with Aashish's parents, went and met them. She informed them everything and the Mahbubanis blessed her.
A source says, "Sikander liked Priya since several years, even while she was in a relationship with Aashish. This of course did not facilitate Priya to take her decision, it was still an extremely tough call."
So, hats off to Sikander. And SpotboyE wishes the couple happiness in the years to come.
P.S: Priya's family does't want to wait for long. Come February, Sikander weds Priya.
