SHOCKING! Pathaan Controversy: FIR Filed Against Deepika Padukone-Shah Rukh Khan In Mumbai For Promoting Vulgarity In ‘Besharam Rang’-Report
FIR has been registered against Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan in Mumbai over ‘Pathaan’ row
Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film ‘Pathaan’ has been embroiled in political and religious controversies ever since the song ‘Besharam Rang’ hit online. Many BJP leaders from Madhya Pradesh and certain religious groups have demanded a ban on the movie alleging Deepika hurt the sentiments of Hindus by wearing a saffron-colored bikini in a scene from ‘Besharam Rang.’ Now, as per the latest reports, an FIR has been filed against Deepika and SRK in Mumbai in connection to the 'Pathaan' first song.
As reported by India.com, in the police complaint, it has been said that “religious sentiments of people and intentional use of the colour saffron to offend Hindu religion is promoting vulgarity.” On Saturday, the complaint was registered at the Sakinaka police station in Mumbai. The report added that the complaint alleged that activists from right-wing groups have staged protests and effigies of SRK and Deepika were burnt by activists.
While ‘Besharam Rang’ is receiving severe backlash on social media, several celebrities like Somy Ali, Ratna Pathak Shah, Prakash Raj, and others have voiced their support in favor of the film saying people objecting to Deepika’s saffron-colored bikini should get a “freaking life."
Yesterday, Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam challenged Shah Rukh Khan to watch Pathaan with his daughter Suhana Khan. He even mentioned if SRK dared to make a similar film on the Prophet and run it, there will be bloodshed in the whole country. Earlier, BJP leader Rajesh Kesarwani and Madhya Pradesh Assembly leader Govind Singh had objected to Pathaan saying said such things are not acceptable in Indian culture.
‘Pathaan’ which also features John Abraham, will hit the theatres on 25 January 2023.
