Shiney Ahuja’s Controversial Life To Be Made Into A Biopic?
Shiney Ahuja’s career came to a standstill after he was accused of rape by his maid in 2009. Now, reports suggest that after a decade, a biopic on his life is being planned
Shiney Ahuja had a promising start in Bollywood with the movie Hazaaron Khwahishein Aisi in 2003. He followed it up with some good performances in movies like Gangster, Woh Lamhe, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Life In A… Metro. But, his career turned out to be a short-lived one. In 2009, Shiney was accused of rape by his maid who was 18 then. She claimed that he would force himself on her, when alone in the house. However, she took her statement back later. But, the damage was done.
No actor was keen to work with Shiney Ahuja and neither any filmmaker was looking to cast him in his/her project. Then, in 2015, he made a comeback with Anees Bazmee’s multi-starrer Welcome Back, however, the movie did nothing to bring him back in the game.
However, a movie on his controversial life is in the works, if reports are to be believed. A Deccan Chronicle report states that filmmaker Kumar Mangat is keen on making a biopic on the actor’s life. When the publication approached the filmmaker, he denied it. A source was quoted by the publication, "The producer has not got Shiney Ahuja's consent to make the film. He is, therefore, keeping it under wraps." The source further added that no attempts will be made to whitewash the actor’s image or depict him in a positive light.
