On the eve of the momentous day of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Amazon Prime Video launched the trailer of a very special film – Amazon Original Movie Shershaah. The war drama which will launch ahead of the Independence Day weekend, on August 12, celebrates the unflinching courage and valor of Kargil War Hero, Captain Vikram Batra (PVC) and is an ode to the relentless spirit and bravery of our armed forces.

The trailer was launched on July 25 at 7.45 pm in the presence of actors Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, Director Vishnu Varadhan, Producers Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shabbir Boxwala and Vijay Subramaniam, Director and Head, Content, Amazon Prime Video, General Y K Joshi, General Officer Commanding-In Chief, Northern Command and Chief of Defence Staff,  General Bipin Rawat who had gathered at Kargil for Kargil Vijay Divas to remember the invaluable sacrifices of our officers in the Kargil War and celebrate the victory that they brought to India.

The trailer received a lot of love from celebrities. Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter and wrote, “What tribute can a reel hero give to a real hero. Except that your sacrifice inspired us for life, Param Vir Chakra Awardee Captain Vikram Batra! Honored to share my birthday with you.” Lauding the trailer, Varun Dhawan wrote, "Such an impactful trailer on such a special day. Let's go, team, Shershaah” Alia Bhatt shared the same sentiment and wrote on Twitter, “Oh my God! What a lovely trailer. Cannot wait to see this inspiring story of our Kargil war hero. Congratulations to the entire team of Shershaah, cannot wait to watch this one!”

Kareena Kapoor Khan wrote on Instagram, "Shershaah trailer.. Congratulations, team #Shershaah! Can’t wait to experience the true story of our Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra (PVC)!” Janhvi Kapoor wrote, "Such courage, bravery, and passion always leaves one inspired. Through and through wishing the entire team of Shershaah all the love and luck for bringing this inspiring story onto our screens. I can't wait to watch it.”
