Satinder Kumar Khosla of Sholay fame breathed his last in Mumbai in a private hospital after he suffered a cardiac arrest
Veteran actor Satinder Kumar Khosla, widely known as Birbal, has left for his heavenly abode. He breathed his last on Tuesday evening at Kokilaben Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai. As reported by NDTV, the Sholay actor’s friend Jugnu, confirmed the news of his demise to the news agency ANI. He passed away due to a cardiac arrest. For those who don’t know, that late actor was in his early 80s.
According to the report by the media publication, his final rites will be performed on Wednesday. The unfortunate passing of the veteran has left the fans and the entertainment industry in deep shock as they have taken to social media to mourn his loss. The Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA) took to their official handle to pay their heartfelt condolences. They wrote, “CINTAA expresses its condolences on the demise of Birbal (Member since 1981).”
For the unversed, Khosla made a name for himself in the entertainment industry with his incredible comic timing and distinctive look featuring his thick moustache and bald head. In a career that spanned over decades, he starred in many movies with Manoj Kumar including Upkar, Roti Kapda Aur Makaan and Kranti. However it was role as a prisoner in Sholay that made him a household name.
He has worked in over 500 movies across languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi and Bhojpuri. He worked in many other movies like Naseeb, Yaarana, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Anjaam, Mr And Mrs Khiladi, Sadma and Anjaam to name a few.
