Sara Ali Khan DISAGREES With Janhvi Kapoor’s ‘Izzat Abhi Tak Nahi Mila’ Statement; Says, ‘Don’t Think Respect Has Been A Problem For Me’
Sara Ali Khan has shared her opinion on Janhvi Kapoor’s statement of getting movies, but not receiving the respect of the audience
Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan shares an amazing relationship with Janhvi Kapoor. Both the actresses have been pitted against each other ever since their debut in 2018. However, breaking the stereotype of two actresses not being cordial with each other, they have been featured in many ads, photoshoots together. They even guest starred in Karan Johar’s talk show, Koffee With Karan together. Now, during a recent interaction, when asked to comment on Janhvi’s statement, Sara disagreed with it.
During the promotions of her upcoming movie Gaslight, Sara spoke to RJ Siddharth Kannan where he asked her about Janhvi’s view of getting movie opportunities but not respect from the audience. Disagreeing with it, the actress revealed for her people accepting her as she is is the biggest sign for respect, which she got very early on in her career. She went on claim that she never felt like she has been under-respected. Quoted by IndiaTV, Sara said, “I think for me, if you accept me for who I am, that’s the biggest sign of respect and I think, touchwood, I got that very early in my career. But even then, whether it’s Kedarnath or Atrangi, I read the reviews I was given. For the unversed, during her interaction with Barkha Dutt, Janhvi Kapoor had said, “It comes down to the line that ‘Mujhe mauke bohot mile hai, par izzat abhi tak nahi mila’ and I think that’s what I am working for, in my own eyes.”
