Sanjay Leela Bhansali Opens Up About Salman Khan-Alia Bhatt Starrer Inshallah; Says, ‘Don’t Know When I’ll Make It, It’s A Spontaneous Decision’

Bollywood filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is currently the talk of the town for his first web series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Known for his larger-than-life storytelling talent to his grand sets and costumes, he was criticised for not focusing much on the character development of certain characters in the show. Now, he has opened up about his next project. Having announced Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, he spoke about his next dream projects which also includes Inshallah, reportedly starring Salman Khan and Alia.
It is a known fact that the filmmaker has six projects, out of which he has created Black, Bajirao Mastani, and Heeramandi. Talking about the rest three, he recently told Pinkvilla, in an exclusive interview that he doesn’t know when he will make the. For the unversed, his forthcoming dream projects are Inshallah, which was shelved, and poet Sahir Ludhianvi’s biopic. Refusing to share an exact timeline on when he will be making the movies, he stated that he follows the inner calling of a filmmaker when making a project. Quoted by News 18, the 61-year-old filmmaker stated, “Now, as the 4th, 5th, and 6th unfold, you’ll get to know, right now, I can’t speak. I really don’t know what I’ll make, when I’ll make it, it’s a very spontaneous decision. I’ll be making Gangubai and suddenly I put the script down and say ‘Ram Leela’. Bhansali went on to add, “Then I am full on onto the project, then I am into the film, and I am making it like it’s me, my soul has to survive, us kisam ki commitment! It’s with everything, so I can’t make a film with because it sounds good on the paper or it’s a good cast, it has to come from deep within to want to make the film, so what I’ll make (I don’t know).”
Released on 1st May 2024, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first web series. The show stars an ensemble cast of Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah Badussha, Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, and many others in pivotal roles.
