Salman-rejected song in Varun's film

A few days ago, lyricist Shabbir Ahmed approached Varun Dhawan with a song Tu Aashiq Surrender. Dhawan Jr liked it so much that he asked Dharma Productions to keep the track in his upcoming film, which will be directed by Shashank Khaitan.

But did you know that this song was first rejected by Salman?

Not so long ago, Shabbir had met Salman, who left him almost in tears.

Shabbir, who had also penned Teri Meri (Bodyguard), had actually written Tu Aashiq for one of Sallu’s films. But he wasn’t prepared for the latter’s response to his work.

When shown the lyrics, the actor lost his cool and chided the writer for penning such lines. While we don’t know what exactly Sallu found objectionable, Shabbir almost broke down.

A source close to him said, “Since the song is quirky, it will suit Varun. The track is part of Dharma Production's upcoming film.”

We hope the news has cheered up Shabbir.
