Popular music composer Vijay Patil of Raam Laxman passed away in the early hours of Saturday due to a heart attack at his residence in Nagpur. He was 78. His son Amar told a leading daily about his tragic demise. Amar revealed that he took the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine a few days ago, following which he was feeling very weak. Several took to their social media accounts to pay tribute to the music director.

Salman Khan took to his Twitter handle and wrote, 'Ram Laxman, music director of my successful films like maine pyaar kiya, pathar ke phool, hum saath saath hain, hum apke hain kaun had sadly passed away. May his soul rest in peace. Condolences to the bereaved family.'

Earlier, legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar took to Twitter and wrote, 'Mujhe abhi pata chala ki bahut guni aur lokpriya sangeetkar Ram Laxman ji (Vijay Patil) ji ka swargwas hua. Ye sunke mujhe bahut dukh hua. Woh bahut acche insaan the. Maine unke kai gaane gaaye jo bahut lokpriya hue. Main unko vinamra shraddhanjali arpan karti hun." Even Rajshri Production house penned a heartfelt tribute for him and wrote, 'Music composer Vijay Patil a.k.a Laxman of the iconic #RaamLaxman duo passed away. Our deepest condolences to his family in this tough time. Rajshri will always remember him for his immense comtribution to the music industry. May his soul Rest In Peace.'

His son Amar was quoted as saying, 'My father passed away at 2:00 am on Saturday. He died due to a heart attack. He got the second jab of Covid-19 vaccine a few days ago, following which he was feeling very weak and fatigued, and a doctor was treating him for that.'
