Bollywood actors have often opened up about losing interesting projects due to various reasons. While some express their sorrow on losing out on a great opportunity, many hail their replacements for doing a good job. One such actor is Salman Khan. It is a known fact that the actor lost out on Abbas-Mustan directorial, Baazigar to Shah Rukh Khan. Shedding light on why he exited the film, the actor had recalled that he found the script ‘too negative’.

Speaking to Kapil Sharma on his comedy-talk show, Salman had revealed that he had liked the film, but found the character too negative. He suggested the director duo add a mother angle to the film to soften the antagonist’s back-story, who laughed it off as it was very cliche. For the unversed, the directors then added the angle and veteran actress Rakhee played the role of SRK’s mother in the film. ALSO READ: OMG! Quoted by Indian Express, the 57-year-old actor said, “I liked Baazigar, but I found the character too negative. So I told Abbas-Mustan to add a mother-like character. Both the brothers laughed at us, saying that this is very cliche. This was dad’s suggestion that he is doing this for his mother. Anyway, we left the film and SRK signed the film.”

The Dabangg actor further added that after the shoot of the movie was completed, Abbas-Mustan called him and thanked him for his idea of adding the angle. He said, “After the entire film was completed, they called me and said that mother idea that you had na, we are adding to the film. Thank you very much.” ALSO READ: VIRAL! Talking about the 1993 movie, Shah Rukh Khan essayed the role of Vicky Malhotra, who seeks revenge from a businessman by befriending his daughters essayed by Shilpa Shetty and Kajol, for ruining his family. 

While the superstars went on to make their successful careers, they always maintained a healthy and friendly relationship. Salman and Shah Rukh were last seen together in YRF’s Pathaan. For the unversed, with the action spy thriller, Yash Raj Films’ production has introduced the audience to its spy universe which consists of Salman Khan’s Tiger, Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir and Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan.
