Salman Gets Interim Bail

Salman Khan has been granted interim bail in the 2002 hit-and-run case. The actor has been given a 48-hour relief till May 8.

Reason being that the detailed copy of the judgment has not reached the High Court.

The interim bail implies that a detailed discussion will follow on May 8 at the High Court and then, a decision will be passed on the extension of the bail.

Following the interim bail, Salman is free to go home today evening.

The High Court’s granting of interim bail has been seen as an unusual move. In the past, the Court has not given interim relief in cases that have been given such a severe punishment.

For those whove come in late, Salman was sentenced to a 5-year jail term by Mumbai Sessions Court earlier in the day. He was found guilty on all charges, including driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
