Salman Breaks His Diwali Jinx With Prem Ratan Dhan Payo
Here's the latest update from the world of Bollywood. We bet you wouldn't want to miss this. Read on for details... Finally
Salman Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo has enjoyed a strong opening at the box-office, with collections to the tune of Rs. 39.03 crore. With the Sooraj Barjatya film, the actor seems to have put an end to his otherwise unimpressive record of Diwali releases. Take a look at his past outings during this festival and you'll know what we mean.
Kyon Ki (2005)
The Priyadarshan-directed film hit the theatres over the Diwali weekend in 2005. One would expect a Salman-Kareena Kapoor starrer to draw in the audience in big numbers. Unfortunately, the romance drama, which clashed with Akshay Kumar-John Abraham starrer Garam Masala, failed to set the cash registers ringing.

Jaan-e-Mann (2006)
Diwali 2006 saw the release of another Salman film - Jaan-e-Mann. And it had tough competition at the box-office - Shah Rukh Khan's Don too hit the screens on the same day. Despite the combined forces of Akshay Kumar and Sallu, Jaan-e-Mann tanked at the box-office while Don went on to become a hit.

Saawariya (2007)
The next year had Salman returning to the theatres with Saawariya. While the Sanjay Leela Bhansali film essentially revolved around Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor, Sallu had an extended cameo. The romance saga, which locked horns with Shah Rukh's Om Shanti Om, turned out to be a disaster.

Heroes (2008)
The multi-starrer had Salman teaming up with Preity Zinta again after Jaan-e-Mann. Same jodi, same box-office fate. The Samir Karnik-directed film did not strike a chord with the audience and is counted as one of Salman's forgettable films.

Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna (2009)
After the ill-fated Kyon Ki, Salman and Kareena reunited for Main Aur Mrs. Khanna in 2009. Sohail Khan completed the love triangle in the drama. However, the movie failed to impress the audience.
