Salim Khan Recalls Salman Khan’s UGLY Fight With Vivek Oberoi Over Aishwarya Rai, Says ‘Koi Aur Le Gaya Aur Yeh Wahi Ke Wahi Hain’
Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were last seen together on screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 1999 romantic musical Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. During that time, the two were reportedly in a relationship, which eventually ended in 2002. Post their breakup, Aishwarya was linked with Vivek Oberoi, which led to a highly publicized and contentious conflict between Salman and Vivek. In a 2003 press conference, Vivek accused Salman of threatening him because of his relationship with Aishwarya. Aishwarya later married Abhishek Bachchan in April 2007, and they welcomed their daughter, Aaradhya, in November 2011. In an old interview with Zoom, Salman Khan’s father, the veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, reflected on the infamous spat between Salman and Vivek. He commented, “There is no logical or rational solution to emotional problems, and both Salman and Vivek have been emotional. Years later, they will realize that they fought over a stupid thing. Koi aur le gaya, koi aur chala and yeh wahi ke wahi hain (Someone else took her away and these two remained where they were).” This statement highlighted the emotional and seemingly pointless nature of their conflict.

Salim Khan also made a hopeful prediction about Salman’s future during the same interview, stating that his son's life would improve significantly after 2009. “Salman will soon be out of the problems he is surrounded by. He is destined to. From 2009 onwards, times will change for the better for him. If Salman has to get married, it will happen in a year or two; otherwise, chances are bleak. While I love all my children equally, the attention right now is on Salman because he is going through a difficult time in his life,” he said. Two decades later, Vivek Oberoi spoke about the difficulties he faced following the incident, describing it as a period filled with "unnecessary stuff" that left him without work. In an interview with Hindustan Times, Vivek discussed the negative aspects of Bollywood, including lobbying and "repressive stories," and noted that he was adversely affected by these darker sides of the industry.

Despite their past, Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made headlines when they both attended the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) fashion gala in Mumbai last year. Although they attended separately, the fact that they were under the same roof was enough to excite their fans, reigniting memories of their past collaboration and relationship.
