Salman pleaded ‘Not Guilty’ and said that he will produce a witness to prove his stand. He asserted that after a busy day of shooting for Hum Saath Saath Hain (1998), the cast would retire to their respective rooms; hence, going hunting is out of question.
Saif, on the other hand, too pleaded innocent but refused to produce a witness. Saif further said, “The Forest Department has wrongly accused us in the case.”
The five are accused of poaching two blackbucks, which are protected under the Wildlife Protection Act, while shooting for the film Hum Saath Saath Hain near Kankani village in 1998.
Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam Kothari left for Jodhpur yesterday.
Meanwhile, on January 18, Salman was acquitted by the Jodhpur Court in 1998 Arms Act Case.
Salman pleaded "not guilty" to charges of violating the law by keeping unlicensed weapons and using them. Salman Khan's lawyer argued that there is no evidence that he was carrying firearms, and that he was only carrying air guns. The actor has also said he was framed.
