Saif Ali Khan REACTS To His Viral Faiz And Ghalib Video: ‘I Was On Medication, Not Always Mentally There In My Interviews'
Apart from his acting prowess, actor Saif Ali Khan is known for making some candid confessions. In a recent interview, the Omkara actor opened up about his viral Faiz and Ghalib interview and admitted that he wasn't always 'mentally there' in his interviews. For the unversed, last year, an old interview of Saif wherein he called Faiz Ahmad Faiz and Mirza Ghalib as his favourite poets went viral on the internet and it started a hilarious meme fest on social media.

Now, while speaking to Zoom, Khan has reacted to this old interview of him. He said, “I think I'm on medication in that, let's call it medication. I look like I'm on medication but I've done so many interviews that I think I've been medicated on some of them. I've not been completely mentally all there sometimes. At a certain age, you should be unpretentious and simple which I see in young Ibrahim (his son Ibrahim Ali Khan) also and I think that's nice. But to have the same attitude at a later age in life is not necessarily correct.” ALSO READ: Saif Ali Khan, Sara Ali Khan And Ibrahim TROLLED For Not Fasting During Ramzan; Angry Netizen Says, ‘Musalmano Ke Name Pe Kalank Ho’

Said added that he is very proud of that interview because he feels it was 'unpretentious'. “Now I'm much more pretentious because there's an age for it. You certainly can't be honest all the time to all the people, it would be very foolish. It doesn't work, I've seen people try and do it, nobody really appreciates it, beyond a point. You might get in trouble as well,” the actor further explained.

In this viral old interview, when asked about poetry Saif was quoted saying, "Hann (ya) Faiz and Ghalib." The next moment he laughed and said, "I am talking totally rubbish. Meri dadi padti thi, mere abba padte hai. Ye koi umar hai in cheezon ko padne ka. I've read a lot of western poetry as I studied there. But my father says that Faiz is a phenomenal poet.”

In terms of work, he will next be seen in the upcoming actioner Adipurush with South superstar Prabhas and Kriti Sanon.
