Saif Ali Khan: It Upsets Me When People Compare My Character In Laal Kaptaan To Jack Sparrow- EXCLUSIVE
Saif Ali Khan’s Laal Kaptaan is set to hit the big screens on October 18. The posters and trailers of the film have got netizens talking about his characterization of a Naga Sadhu. The Internet is divided on their thoughts about his look as some feel he resembles Jack Sparrow. Post the trailer, several people on Twitter got debating on the same.

So when we sat down for an interview with the actor and director Navdeep Singh, we quizzed him on the comparisons with Jack Sparrow. Here’s what Saif had to say, “It upsets me when people say Jack Sparrow because it's really not. These are the elements that our culture has given cinema and this is something very seeped in India. The Naga Sadhu, the dreadlocks, bandana and his ash face, even the red jacket comes from the East India Company, so it's a character from our time.”

When we told him that the Internet went berserk saying that the look has been copied and bears resemblance to Jack Sparrow, he replied, "I think they went berserk with Thugs of Hindostan.” WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW:

He further said that it took him 2 hours initially to get into the role of a Naga Sadhu but with time, it got better. The actor even spoke about the failure of his last few films, his take on the current phase of cinema, cricket and much more.
