Rishi Kapoor: Not Just Pakistani Artistes, But The Whole Of Pakistan Should Condemn The Terrorist Attack
In his trademark forthright style, the senior actor said that if Pakistan keeps quiet, it would mean that they are confirming being a terrorist country
From taking a dig at fellow actors to commenting on various political issues, Rishi Kapoor has found himself under the fire many a times due to his unabashed statements. So, it didn’t come as a surprise when the veteran actor unleashed a volley of tweets on the ongoing controversy regarding the ban against Pakistani artistes. Kapoor began by saying that not only Pakistani artistes, but the entire nation (Pakistan) should condemn the terrorist attack.
He went on to say that by not doing so, they (Paki artistes) and confirming “Pakistan as being terrorists.”
He concluded his stance by saying we should “unitedly condemn terrorism” and that he only stands for peace.
The ongoing controversy around banning Pakistani artistes in the wake of Uri attacks that killed 18 Indian soldiers has Bollywood divided. While Saif Ali Khan, Karan Johar, Salman Khan, Mahesh Bhatt, Juhi Chawla and Radhika Apte opine that the cross-cultural exchange should be encouraged, actors such as Nana Patekar, Randeep Hooda and filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar say that their country is above everything else.
