Rishi Kapoor Demise: Priyanka Chopra Pens Heartfelt Eulogy: ‘He Made Falling In Love Seem So Easy’
Bollywood lost one of its finest actors as Rishi Kapoor passed away on April 30 aged 67. His death was a huge loss to his family, friends, and the Hindi film industry. Bollywood celebrities mourned his demise and took to their social media to remember him and pen down their heartfelt condolences to his family. Priyanka Chopra, who worked with the veteran actor in the film Agneepath, now penned a heartfelt piece remembering late actor Rishi Kapoor, and thanked him for the memories. Bidding farewell, she wrote that she is grateful for having had the opportunity of knowing him personally.

Priyanka Chopra wrote a eulogy that will appear in the May 18, 2020, issue of TIME remembering Rishi Kapoor. Speaking about his role in the film Bobby, she described him as ‘the keeper of our hearts’ and wrote that he ushered in a new era of romance in Hindi movies. “He was mischievous, rebellious, passionate—and he made falling in love seem so easy and so within our grasp. What made Rishi Kapoor’s love different? It had all the passion of a Shakespearean hero with a generous dollop of innocence added in,” she wrote.

She further touched upon the various experimental roles that he took up in the latter part of his career. “The versatility of this genial man will never be experienced again,” she wrote.

Concluding her note, she penned Rishi Kapoor’s father’s quote from Mera Naam Joker: ‘the show must go on.’ “I’m so grateful for having had the opportunity of knowing you personally as well—your candor, your laughter, your zest for life. That’s how I’ll always remember you,” she wrote.
