Heartfelt tributes are pouring in for legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, who died on Sunday morning at Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital. Doctor Pratit Samdani, who was treating the singer, has confirmed that Lata died due to multiple organ failure. The news of her tragic demise has sent a shockwave across the entire nation. Bollywood celebrities too are in a state of deep shock and expressed their grief on Twitter. Many stars including, Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, AR Rehman, Boney Kapoor among others paid rich tribute to the Nightingale Of India.

Paying his last respects, Khiladi Kumar tweeted, “Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hain, Gar Yaad Rahe…and how can one forget such a voice! Deeply saddened by the passing away of Lata Mangeshkar ji, my sincere condolences and prayers. Om Shanti.” Anil Kapoor expressed his grief writing, “Heartbroken, but blessed to have known & loved this incredible soul...Lataji holds a place in our hearts that will never be taken by anyone else. That's how profoundly she has impacted our lives with her music. May she rest in peace & light up the heavens with her brightness.”

Actress Dia Miza said, "Lata Mangeshkarji’s voice will always be India’s voice. Our glorious nightingale of India. Our Bharat Ratna. Om Shanti.”  While mourning Lata’s sad demise, Karan Johar penned a lengthy note thanking the singer for making an entire nation swoon with her pure voice.

Meanwhile, Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital issued a statement that read, “It is with profound grief that we announce the sad demise of Lata Mangeshkar at 8:12 AM. She has died because of multi-organ failure after more than 28 days of hospitalisation post-COVID19.” Lata Mangeshkar’s body will be taken to Shivaji Park for her fans and well-wishers to pay their homage.
