Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death left the entire country in shock. While it started chatter around mental health and the importance of awareness, it also brought the Hindi film industry under the scanner. From the nepotism debate to the celebrities indulging in alcohol and drugs, a lot was said and done. Amidst it all his then-girlfriend, actress Rhea Chakraborty was put on a media trial and her name was dragged through the mud. Now that she is getting her life back on track, for the first time in three years, she has now opened up about his death and the whether or not she supplied him drugs.

Rhea recently attended India Today’s conclave where she opened up about what she went through. When asked about if she had supplied drugs to Sushant, as per the many speculations, she denied the allegation. She went on to state that she is done with the topic and has nothing to share concerning it. Quoted by Bollywood Life, she said, “I am done with this topic. I don’t want to talk about drugs; I don’t want to talk about NCB. The 31-year-old actress went on to share how even today when she enters the room, she can see it in people’s eyes, the pity they have for her. She can see it on their faces how while some root for her, others wonder how she is alive after going through incessantly brutal trolling. She goes on to state, “When I have conversations with people, I can hear the thoughts in their minds. Sometimes they are looking at me and thinking she doesn’t seem like a criminal. I can feel that thought at the same time. Does it matter to me? During the same conversation, the Sonali Cable actress also spoke about getting closure and revealed that as she has gone through a personal loss, there can never be a closure. She explains how while she will never get the closure, as it will always be at the “the back of your mind,” the incident has certainly changed her perspective. 


For the unversed, after the late actor was found hanging in his apartment, in June 2020, Rhea came under the scanner. She was criticised, ridiculed and blamed for SSR’s death. Rhea along with six others, including her brother, were accused of abetting his suicide. SSR’s case is being probed by CBI but no closure report has been filed yet. 

On the work front, the actress was last seen in Rumi Jaffery’s film Chehre which also featured Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi. She recently made her comeback with the reality show Roadies season 19 Karm Ya Kaand.
