Janhvi Kapoor starrer Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl got into legal trouble after the Indian Air Force (IAF) expressed their disappointment over their portrayal in the movie. In the ongoing case against makers of Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, the Delhi High Court asked retired IAF pilot Gunjan Saxena to file an affidavit mentioning her take on the depiction of the IAF in the film streaming on Netflix. Now, according to a report, Saxena has backed the force before the Delhi High Court and said that she faced no discrimination during her service in the Indian Air Force (IAF).

According to a copy of the affidavit filed by Gunjan Saxena’s counsel, the retired IAF pilot denied facing any discrimination during her service. It was a social media user shared a copy of the affidavit filed by Gunjan Saxena’s counsel, on Twitter. An excerpt from the affidavit reads, "I had no control over the exercise of “creative liberties” during the making of the movie. I have not faced any discrimination on the basis of my gender in the IAF. IAF as an institution is very progressive. I will forever be grateful for the opportunities given to me by the IAF.”

As the Delhi HC had asked Gunjan Saxena to submit an affidavit on September 18, reportedly, she mentioned that she had no control over the ‘creative liberties’ during the making of the movie. She also mentioned about not facing discrimination during her service and called the IAF to be an institution which is ‘very progressive’. Saxena said she will be grateful for the opportunities the IAF gave her.

Meanwhile, as reported by NDTV, the single-judge bench of Justice Rajiv Shakdher also asked Saxena to mention whether the makers violated the terms of any agreement, which they entered into with her. Saxena’s lawyer also told the court how his client personally felt that the film glorifies the IAF. While the court listed the case for the next hearing on October 15, the Delhi HC asked the makers of the film and the government to sort out issues over the Gunjan Saxena biopic.
