Reena Roy Reveals She Wants To Do Movies Like Baghban and Mother India; Says, ‘I Enjoy South Films Dubbed In Hindi’
Veteran actress Reena Roy, who made her debut in Bollywood with Zaroorat enjoyed a huge fanbase in the 70s and 80s. With films like Jaise Ko Taisa (1973), Zakhmee (1975), and Sanam Teri Kasam (1982) she was one of the popular actresses of her time. While, after her wedding to Pakistani cricketer Mohsin Khan, she announced her sabbatical from acting, she is all set to return to the big screen. In a recent interview with ETimes, she spoke about wanting to work in OTT projects and recalled the time she had working in the south industry.

Recalling how she wants to do projects like Bhagban and Mother India, she told the entertainment publication, “I want to do something along the lines of Baghban and Mother India. These days, I watch more south films that are dubbed in Hindi. Their action and dance are unbelievable. I enjoy those films... I have worked a lot down south in the past. They were very punctual, particular and very dedicated. When I used to work in the South with LV Prasad and all, if the director’s car was moving ahead of us, then we couldn’t overtake his car.”


She went on to express her desire of working on OTT platforms and regional films. Opening up about how she wants to try a hand in everything, the 65-year-old actress said, “This new year I have decided that I will be working in OTT. I am getting offers. I would like to work in regional films too from Punjabi to Tamil, Telugu, I want to work on everything.”

For the unversed, she got divorced from the cricketer in early-90s. However, she had to go through a lot of trouble to gain the custody of her daughter Jannat, also known as Sanam.
