Never the one to shy away from expressing her opinions on the ongoing matters in the industry, she recently opened up about how there is a difference between Bollywood celebrities being honest and pretending to be honest by talking rudely to someone. As soon as the video clip from her interview went viral, netizens felt she was taking a dig at Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karan Johar.
In the video posted on the subreddit Bolly Blinds N Gossip, the 49-year-old actress spoke about the attitude of some of the Bollywood celebrities. Quoted by the Bollywood Shaadis, she said, “There’s a difference. There are some people who actually feed off being rude and keeping the tag of 'Oh, I’m too honest. I will say it on the face.' Tandon went on to add how people who often criticise you when asked for their opinion are not honest. There are other ways of explaining to them. She said, “Tomorrow, if you come to me and ask how is this dress? I don’t have to say, ‘Oh my god, it sucks. But oh, see how honest I am.’ They think it’s damn cool. I would turn around and say, ‘Listen, it probably doesn’t suit you, dude. I mean, I wouldn’t wear something like that but tu dekhle yaar. Tu khush hai, tereko accha lag raha hai pehne main toh pehen na bindaas. Well, as soon as the video surfaced on the internet, netizens were quick to decipher who she was talking about. While many complimented her for progressing and opening up about such things, others bashed her for being a hypocrite as she too bullied people in the past. Others felt she was mocking actresses like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kajol, and Sonam Kapoor as well as filmmakers Karan Johar and Mahesh Bhatt.
