Raveena Tandon Files Defamation Charges Against ‘Journalist,’ Who Posted Her Road Rage Video; Lawyer Says, ‘Deliberate Attempt To Tarnish Her Reputation’
Actress Raveena Tandon became a household name with her versatile performances. Having risen to fame in the 90s, she has been expanding her craft by being a part of web shows and regional movies. She was recently embroiled in controversy following a road rage incident in Bandra, Mumbai. The actress and her driver made the headlines for their reckless driving and hurting three women including an old woman. As videos of the same went viral on the internet, media reports stated that the ‘victims’ falsely accused her after police officials found CCTV footage of the entire incident.

Days after the 49-year-old actress was given a clean chit by the police, a viral video of the incident went viral on social media. A Twitterati claiming to be a ‘freelance journalist’ shared the video on X (formerly known as Twitter) on June 2, 2024. A recent report by the Hindustan Times reports that Tandon has sent a defamation notice to the netizens for posting the video on social media. Raveena’s lawyer Sana Raees Khan spoke about the same with the media publication. Quoted by the Free Press Journal, she said, “Recently, an attempt was made to embroil Raveena in a false and frivolous allegation which was clarified in CCTV footage and the allegation was withdrawn. The Bigg Boss season 17 contestant added how they are taking all the necessary legal steps to address the issue. The 28-year-old added, “This dissemination of false news appears to be a deliberate attempt to tarnish Raveena’s reputation for ulterior motives. We are currently taking all necessary legal steps to address this issue and ensure that justice is served. We stand in solidarity with Raveena and support her right to seek redressal for the harm caused by these unfounded allegations.”

On the work front, Raveena Tandon was last seen in the web shows Karmma Calling and Patna Shukla. She has Ghudchadi, co-starring Sanjay Dutt, and the multi-starrer Welcome To The Jungle in her pipeline.
